Here's the press release:
Mix 96.5 Makes You Feel Good With Continuous Christmas Music
ASHEVILLE, NC – Asheville Radio Group’s Bright AC, Mix 96.5, that recently transitioned into Asheville’s Christmas Station, will go commercial-free beginning December 24th at 3pm and will continue playing holiday favorites, without interruption, through all of Christmas Day, ending at midnight on December 26th.
Mix 96.5’s new festive playlist is made up of classic holiday favorites from artists like Bing Crosby, Nat “King” Cole, Andy Williams, and Johnny Mathis, played alongside more recent seasonal hits from the likes of Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. All topped off with a smidge of fresh holiday spice such as Michael Buble’s cover of Mariah’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Justin Bieber’s new holiday hit, “Mistletoe,” and “The First Noel” as performed by the Carolinas own, Needtobreathe.
Leading up to their commercial-free launch, Mix 96.5 plays regular sets of “at least 30 minutes of non-stop Christmas music,” and features the “96 Minute All Music Mix” every weekday morning, kicking off just before 9am. Mix 96.5’s regular stable of personalities can also be heard; Tammy & Strickland from 5:30 to 9am, Kim Mathews from 9am to 3pm, Ken (formerly of Ken & Tammy) from 3 to 7pm, and John Tesh from 7pm until midnight.
Mix 96.5 will return to its regular Bright AC format, playing “Feel Good Variety” of hits from current artists like Lady Gaga, Adele and Maroon 5, as well as the biggest hits from the 80s and 90s, beginning at midnight on December 26th.
