$73k pledged by Lutheran financial organization to build habitat house in West Asheville

Thrivent, a Lutheran financial organization, recently announced $9.2million nationwide to assist local Habitat for Humanity chapters with building costs.

According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, $73,000 of that is earmarked for a new home in the Carney Place neighborhood in West Asheville.

Recently, the first wall was raised on another home in the same development, that one with the assistance of proceeds from the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam. Photo at left of that wall-raising, with right to left, Warren Haynes, Michelle Bevans, and Howard Hanger.
