According to the Hendersonville Times-News, Mountin' Hopes, a nonprofit therapeutic riding center in Western North Carolina, has sold its 45-acre farm in Mars Hill in an attempt to downsize in the struggling economy. An open letter from Tory Stephen, chairman of the board, says the farm had a mortgage of $110,000 and a monthly payment of $800. "It has been a challenging 18 months and at the beginning of the summer we were not sure if Mountin' Hopes would survive financially," the letter says.Read the full article
