• Pisgah Brewing announces a New Year's Eve party blues rockers Shane Pruitt Band. "What better way to bring in the new year than with some blues, soul and rock-n-roll at Black Mountain’s premier music venue?" asks the band. The show begins around 9:30 p.m., tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
• Garage at Biltmore kicks off the new year with Wondrous Samadhi NYE an "all-night celebration of music, visuals, art and each other!" Performers include Annunaki, GalaxC Girl, Quetzatl, Goadream, In Plain Sight, Brad Bitt, Sensoma, Kri and d:Raf. The event begins at 9 p.m., cover is $10 or $8 "in costume with magic secret password."
• Jack of the Wood sticks to tradition with Sons of Ralph sending out 2011. Music starts at 9:30 p.m.
• At TallGary's Cantina, it's a "humongous New Year's Eve Party. Music by Chatterbox and champagne at midnight. It's going to be a hell of a party!"
• The Bywater has it's own New Year's Eve happenings: a Bash & Funkstravaganza with "music by The Messengers for your listening/bootyshaking pleasure. Bonfires, cocktails, funk, capped off with a live ball drop." Start time is 9 p.m.
