A downtown Hendersonville landmark closed its doors for good Saturday, but not before one final, bittersweet hurrah.

Sinbad restaurant on South Washington Street — which opened in February 1993 and was one of downtown’s longest running, continuously owned eateries — served its final meal during the business’ annual New Year’s fixed-price dinner. The closing came after owners Sylvie and Kanaan Kassab decided earlier this year to retire.
