Asheville Citizen-Times reports that local Pagan parent Ginger Strivelli made good on her promise to deliver Pagan religion books for distribution at Buncombe County Schools, after seeing that North Windy Ridge intermediate school had accepted Bibles for distribution.

“I’m not surprised a bit. That’s fully what I expected,” Strivelli said. “Basically, they were calling my bluff thinking I wouldn’t bring in the books.
“They’re changing the policy, which is wonderful. They shouldn’t (allow) it, but they shouldn’t have done it to start with. That makes it unfair after they have given out Christian propaganda.”
The school system released the following statement Wednesday:
“Buncombe County school officials are currently reviewing relevant policies and practices with school board attorneys; during this review period, no school in the system will be accepting donation of materials that could be viewed as advocating a particular religion or belief.”

Good. There should be no religious anything in public schools at all. I applaud Ginger for calling them out on it.

Hopefully, this situation is being resolved so that NO "religious materials" will be made available to students.
The next step of course is to determine if the Bible is in the school library; and if so does the collection include other texts from other beliefs ... if not, then the Bible should be removed.
