The Grove House hosts a Masquerade Ball to benefit Asheville's Urban Arts Institute. The event, called A New Year for the New Year kicks off at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Eleven on Grove (the main-level club in the Grove House complex). DJ Super See from local radio station WRES 100.7 FM spins tunes and other performances are still TBA. The $10 cover charges includes music and food.
Founded by Michael Hayes, the Urban Arts Institute aims to enhance the lives of students through self-expression and self-esteem enhancement, as well as other programs that promote academic success and community building in order to reduce gang activity.
