From the press release:
Hendersonville, NC - Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina and Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) have partnered in a new healthcare lab at 170 Four Seasons Mall in Hendersonville. The lab, located near Goodwill's Career Connections Center, will host Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes that prepare students to enter the healthcare industry. At its campus in Flat Rock, BRCC annually trains 200 CNAs. The new Goodwill/BRCC class will enable training for an additional 100 students each year.
“These classes enable BRCC to provide the nursing assistant training in a shorter amount of time, allowing students to more quickly enter the workforce. By combining our resources with those of Goodwill, we can offer more opportunities for individuals to enter the growing healthcare field,” said Caren Hutchinson, Allied Health Faculty Coordinator for Blue Ridge Community College. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with Goodwill to address additional educational and training needs of our community.”
The first class begins January 9 and meets Monday-Thursday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, for six weeks. Cost for registration, class materials and supplies is $375 (scholarships are available). Classes are limited to 10 students. For more information or to register, contact Caren Hutchinson at (828) 694-1761 or cs_hutchinson@blueridge.edu.
