Nikki Talley on non-stop tour

"We gave up the lease to our l'il Asheville apartment and have set out on the road indefinitely," writes singer/songwritrer Nikki Talley who, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, raised over $8,400 that went toward a Chevy van (pictured). The musician and her husband/band member Jason Sharp are now full-time touring, starting with winter dates in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

For updates on Talley's tour, follow her blogs on her website. (Sharp's impressions are here.) She also promises to make her way back to to WNC on a regular basis. "My roots are so deep in Asheville," she writes. "I'll be back probably once a month or so until we start really expanding our horizons."

Talley and Sharp return to the area Friday, Jan. 27-Saturday, Feb. 4:

• Friday, Jan 27 — French Broad Brewery 6-8 p.m. Free; kid and dog friendly!

• Thursday, Feb. 2 — The Purple Onion in Saluda. 7:30 p.m., free.

• Friday, Feb 3 — Jack of Hearts in Weaverville. 8 p.m., $5.

• Saturday, Feb 4 — Southern Appalachian Brewery in Hendersonville. 8 p.m., free.
