Proponents of a Constitutional Amendment to reverse last year's US Supreme Court ruling in the case known as Citizens United. The ruling, which has the effect of granting corporations person-hood, has what critics see as a chilling effect on the political process. Speakers will include Asheville City Council member Cecil Bothwell, local blogger and trauma surgeon Errington Thompson, and local activist Richard Fireman. After collecting signatures and listening to speakers, the plan is to demonstrate near the Asheville Federal Building.
