“Paislee was diagnosed in October, 2011,” Jody Cordell, her mother, said. “My mother and I knew there was something wrong, because she didn’t grow very much, weighing only 16.25 pounds, and she will be two years old in February. She is only one in 182 living in the whole world with this disease.”
Paislee is under the care of Dr. William Allen at the Fullerton Genetics Center in Asheville.
“She is the only child with Bloom’s Syndrome that Dr. Allen has ever seen,” Cordell said.
