Coloradoan: New Belgium delays brewery decision, but Asheville still top contender

Here's an excerpt from the article in the Coloradoan, a paper published in New Belgium's hometown of Ft. Collins, Colo.:

Nicknamed Beer City USA, Asheville, N.C. is putting its name on the craft beer industry.

Last week Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. selected Mills River, NC, 12 miles south of Asheville, for an East Coast brewery. The announcement has no impact on New Belgium Brewing Co., which is also eyeing Asheville for a possible East Coast brewery.

“That’s not a deal maker or deal breaker,” said Bryan Simpson, media relations director with New Belgium. “It’s a great location. What attracted us also brought Sierra Nevada there as well.”
