U.S. Deputy Secretary of Labor Seth Harris toured Asheville-based AvL Technologies Thursday, guided by the company's CEO and founder Jim Oliver. Harris visited the satellite antenna manufacturer to highlight its roots in the A-B Tech business incubator, relating its success to President Obama's “Blueprint for an America built to Last.” A-B Tech president Dr. Hank Dunn also joined the tour and the press conference that followed, during which Deputy Secretary Harris praised both the company and the college, citing innovation as an important part of manufacturing.
