Group brings up-close experience with raptors to Henderson County school kids

Squeals of delight could be heard in a fourth-grade classroom at Dana Elementary as a falcon flew from one end of the room to the other.

Students got an up-close look at the falcon and several owls as they learned about birds of prey during a presentation Friday by Save Our American Raptors, a group out of Georgia. S.O.A.R. presents about 350 programs a year across the country at schools, national and state parks and for other organizations, said Dale Kernahan, one of the S.O.A.R. presenters.
