Postal workers, protesters rally this afternoon against service cuts

Local U.S. Postal Service workers and protesters — including members of Occupy Asheville and Occupy Hendersonville — will rally today at 1:30 p.m. in Pack Square Park to protest proposed cuts.

Speakers will include WNC Central Labor Council President Mark Case, local postal workers union President Joanne Guess, a Benjamin Franklin re-enactor and others.

After the rally, protesters will march through downtown before reconvening at 3 p.m. in Pack's Tavern for a meet-and-greet with local politicians.
