From a Mission Hospital press release:
Keeping up with a national trend toward locally sourced foods, Mission Hospital’s chefs will be demonstrating how to build a local burger this Friday, March 9.
Exhibition cooking stations featuring local ingredients will be set up in the Mission cafeteria from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The menu will include hamburgers from Brasstown Beef and veggie burgers from Rosetta’s Kitchen. There will also be local goat cheese, bread from Annie’s Naturally Bakery and Lusty Monk mustard.
“People are paying closer attention to where their food comes from, both for economic and health reasons,” said Jason Channell, System Retail Manager with Mission Healthcare System. “Mission is committed to sustainability and supporting our neighbors, including local businesses. Sometimes building a better community can be as simple as building a better burger.”
