June job cuts in education add to recent NC unemployment figures

From the Asheville Citizen-Times:
Nearly 7,600 state workers — including teacher assistants, community college and university staffers — lost their jobs in June, driving North Carolina's unemployment up to 9.9 percent, the highest rate since October.
Governments from federal, state, city and county levels in June alone shed 10,200 workers statewide.
