From the press release:
Hendersonville, N.C. (Date) – Since 2002, more than half of Americans who have ever smoked have quit smoking. Yet somehow, tobacco is still the leading cause of preventable disease, disability and death in the United States. The Wellness Department at Park Ridge Health is offering a class to help smokers quit the habit through the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking program. This seven-week smoking cessation class is for adults only, and is administered by certified instructors at Park Ridge Health. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, April 18 through May 30 (with an extra class on Friday, May 11), from 10:30 a.m. to noon at The Health Adventure, located in the Biltmore Square Mall.
As America’s gold standard smoking cessation program for over 25 years, Freedom From Smoking helps participants create personalized plans to overcome their tobacco addiction. The recently revised program is based on the latest research on addiction and behavior change. It approaches the difficulties of quitting with a sensitive, supportive style. Studies show that people who use the program are six times more likely to be smoke-free one year later than those who try to quit on their own.
The Freedom from Smoking course and materials are free, but space is limited, so please call 855-PRH-LIFE to pre-register by April 16, 2012.
