From People Advocating Real Conservancy:

Patsy Keever
Patsy Keever is pro-choice; she's taken a forceful stand against the recent Republican war on women. Her opponent in this primary, Terry Bellamy, is anti-choice. Patsy has also consistently fought for clean air and water; she has one of the strongest environmental voting records in the state legislature. PARC is proud to endorse Patsy Keever for Congress.

Cecil Bothwell
Cecil Bothwell has been a regional leader in environmental protection and sustainable systems for decades. He's championed clean air initiatives, steep slope protection, government accountability, and wise use of tax dollars as an elected official.
"I entered the primary race in March of 2011, when the incumbent Blue Dog Democrat Heath Shuler voted to defund Planned Parenthood." PARC strongly endorses Cecil Bothwell for Congress.

Drew Reisinger
Drew has worked toward sustainability, responsible stewardship, and service to the citizens of Buncombe County during his tenure as Register of Deeds. Through his leadership, the office now accepts debit and credit cards, makes Spanish translation available, and provides online marriage license application. With all of these accomplishments, Drew still cut the budget by over $230,000 by cutting his own salary and implementing new technologies. PARC is pleased to endorse Drew Reisinger for Register of Deeds.

Vote "No" on Amendment One
Amendment One is the anti-gay amendment to our state Constitution.
The language of the amendment, “Marriage between a man and a woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this state”, prohibits NC from ever recognizing civil unions and domestic partnerships.
It could invalidate domestic violence protection for unmarried couples (as an Ohio court recently did), interfere with existing child custody rights, and even invalidate domestic partner benefits now offered by several municipalities.
Amendment One is bad for our state. President Obama opposes it, NOW opposes it, and PARC opposes it. http://equalitync.org/

Please mark your calendars and remember to VOTE on MAY 8th!
Thanks from your friends in PARC.
