Hendersonville city council approves alcohol sales at events with permits

According to the Hendersonville Times-News, Alcohol can be sold at special events in Hendersonville if organizers apply for a permit, City Council members decided Thursday.

The council also tentatively approved the creation of a dog park off the Oklawaha Greenway and agreed to allow taxi companies to raise their rates.

Council members said alcohol permits will be approved on a case-by-case basis, and event organizers must meet the state's criteria for selling alcohol, apply for a special permit and adhere to curfews that end the sale and consumption of alcohol. Councilman Jerry Smith said there needed to be limitations on where alcohol would be served and consumed, which was added to the policy.Read the full article
