BUNCOMBE FORWARD ENDORSES GLENDA PETERS WEINERT, CHRISTINA KELLEY G. MERRILL & LINDA SOUTHARD FOR BUNCOMBE COUNTY COMMISSIONER
Buncombe County, North Carolina - Buncombe Forward is pleased to announce it has formally endorsed the following candidates for Buncombe County Commissioner:
Glenda Peters Weinert - Chair
Christina Kelley G. Merrill - District 2
Linda Southard - District 3
This year will be an important election for Buncombe County voters. The current county commission has led Buncombe County into an untenable situation through years of financial mismanagement. County spending and debt have soared, taxes and fees have risen, and private property rights have been continuously eroded. The next commission will have very serious fiscal challenges to address.
Consequently, Buncombe Forward has chosen to endorse and actively support three candidates we believe to be the most capable and resolute in dealing with the county's serious fiscal challenges in the years ahead. We have full faith and confidence that these three candidates have the character and resolve to see Buncombe County through these difficult times. All three candidates have pledged to not raise taxes or fees, not incur any more debt, and repeal the recent regressive sales tax increase that is costing Buncombe County jobs.
We are asking all Buncombe County voters who want to see new and responsible leadership to join us in actively supporting these three candidates for Buncombe County Commissioner. For more information, please visit buncombeforward.com and the following campaign websites:
