HENDERSONVILLE, NC – Conservative Christian businessman Mark Meadows took to the airwaves this morning in the race to represent Western North Carolina in Congress. Meadows is the first of eight Republican candidates in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District to begin airing TV ads. He introduces himself to voters as a small businessman who is driven by a moral obligation to stop Barack Obama’s assault on Western North Carolina values. Meadows ads can be seen on broadcast and cable TV stations throughout the 11th Congressional District.
“From Obamacare, to our state’s upcoming marriage amendment, President Obama has run roughshod over Western North Carolinians’ values, and I’m running to stop him.” stated Meadows. “Guided by my unwavering faith and my experience starting a small business, I won’t rest until his policies are repealed and replaced with conservative solutions, so our economy can grow and Western North Carolinians can have jobs again.” Meadows is a fiscal and social conservative who has served on numerous boards and was recently appointed to the State Board for Economic Development in Western North Carolina, because of his expertise in business and job creation. He is a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, a Christian Conservative and a champion of “Life, Liberty, and Lower Taxes.”
In recent weeks, Meadows has won back-to-back straw polls in Burke, Henderson, Caldwell, Buncombe, Transylvania and Swain Counties. He has also picked up major endorsements from 2010 GOP nominee Jeff Miller, the Family Research Council’s Action PAC and Dr. Michael Farris, the founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association. Meadows is also supported by numerous County Sheriffs and other elected officials throughout North Carolina.

In his video, Meadows states that he favors violating the rights of certain individuals whom he deems to be inferior according to his religious beliefs.
Gay individuals are first class citizens and are married if they say so. Only government force can prevent these individuals from exercising their unalienable rights.
Therefore, Mark Meadows is an unacceptable candidate for elective office.

Imagine if Barney Frank called a bunch of Republicans "card-carrying members of the American Nazi Party". He would and should be censured by the House, for publicly lying about the party affiliation of a group of his fellow legislators.

McCarthy's whole career was spent lying about his opponents, making up heroic deeds he'd supposedly done in battle and ultimately was discredited publicly and ran off with his tail between his legs, to leave a legacy of shame.

Allen West is relevant in that he is today's Tea Party darling. This is the same character that hired someone named Joyce Kaufman to be his Chief of Staff, who advocated the hanging of undocumented workers. This is the same whack job that recently blamed women for the deficit. He publicly stated that Obama and Democrats should "get the hell out of this country." This guy is about as radical a right-winger as to be found, and none of his McCarthyisms (which even some Republicans are backing away from), his frequent misogynist or homophobic rants have been repudiated by his faithful. Why, shades of GW, he even stated he's serve as VP candidate if it was "God's will."
Today's right-wingers are so bereft of ideas beyond the same factually discredited drivel they've always upchucked that they are left with only lies, vilification and emotionally charged hyperbole to keep the base stoked.

Hey, it just keeps getting better. It was reported earlier today that West, in a speech to a handful of senior citizens in Florida (who may or may not have been afflicted with senile dementia to allow him there) that a proposed tax on tanning beds in Florida was "racist."
I guess that is another example of wingnut humor.
