April 20th, 2012 - Black Mountain, NC. Wand’rly Magazine unveiled its first issue today, which features photos and articles on living like a local in Asheville, North Carolina. Aimed at full time or “most of the time” travelers, the magazine aims to help newcomers to the city dive right into the lesser known wonders of what makes AVL such a grand place to explore.
Written by Black Mountain resident Nathan Swartz, the online magazine aims to bring the experience of reading a paper magazine to the Internet, with customized versions for desktop browsers, iPhone users and a particularly magazine-like iPad version. Photographs by local photographers, along with Wand’rly’s staff comprised completely of Swartz’ family members, help bring Asheville to life.
Aside from our written articles on Asheville and Black Mountain, the magazine also features free MP3 downloads from local bands and discounts to area restaurants and attractions for subscribers. Subscriptions are only $5 / year and can be purchased via http://wandrlymagazine.com/subscribe/
Advertising options are also available, with lifetime ads starting as low as $350. http://wandrlymagazine.com/advertise/
Heavily traveled themselves, Wand’rly’s staff has lived full time in a Volkswagen Bus, exploring every corner of North America as well as much of Europe and South America. They hope to bring the excitement and pleasures of casting off the shackles of single location living in exchange for calling a new place home whenever the mood strikes. They chose Black Mountain as their home base while having their third son simply because the Asheville area is the most beautiful, still natural spot east of the Mississippi.
We hope that this first issue on Asheville will be a great read for both travelers and long time locals alike, and are excited to bring new issues and locations to people all around the country.Read the full article
