Here's an excerpt of the Asheville Citizen-Times column by Jon Ostendorff:
Almost as soon as the ink dried on the primary election results, the Republicans started tossing bombs at Democratic nominee Hayden Rogers in the 11th Congressional District.
That’s a sign they are worried about him. And they should be. He’s a conservative Democrat with a lot of money and party support.
Nearly two weeks have passed since Election Day, however, and nary has a word been said by the national GOP machine about Democratic candidate Patsy Keever’s “upset” win over Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy in the 10th District. ...
... The GOP is betting McHenry will win in the conservative 10th, despite the fact it contains most of liberal Asheville and Buncombe County for this first time this year thanks to Republican-led redistricting.
