Western North Carolina AIDS Project recently announced that this year's Dining Out For Life fundraiser, held April 26, brought in $156,000. The annual event, during which 100 local restaurants donate 20-percent of each bill to WNCAP for HIV/AIDS services and educational programs, is now in it's 10th year.
"The nonprofit announced this week that after 10 years of the popular Dining Out fundraiser in the Asheville area, WNCAP has raised more than $1 million to support HIV/AIDS prevention and support programming for 18 counties in WNC," reports a story in the Asheville Citizen-Times. "This year’s event raised more than $156,000 — $18,000 more than last year’s record-setting total."
