We definitely do not need apartments or condos opposite the St. Lawrence Basilica. Tell City Council to find another location to make more money. Leave the basilica area alone.

    • By what method or marketing research did the writer determine that "We definitely do not need apartments or condos." And who is "we"? Does she mean me, or is she speculating beyond her ken?

    • Actually, adding more density downtown makes all the sense in the world. Adding more capacity for downtown while eliminating a major eyesore sounds like a great idea.

    • Actually, given the dearth of affordable housing in Asheville we very much *DO* need some sort of housing. At the very least we need something on that spot that will put it on the property tax rolls. I am all for public parks, but there is a public park (Pritchard Park) just a block away and City County Plaza as well as Martin Luther King Park and Montford Park not far away.
