Park Ridge Health is proud to be a sponsor of the Downtown Hendersonville “Bearfootin’” public art exhibit, and presents “Parker the Bear” as part of the outdoor gallery. The medical-themed bear, created by local artist Heidi Mayfield, wears a lab coat, and is surrounded by wildflowers to represent the beauty of Western North Carolina. The sunset on Parker’s back was inspired by a photo the artist took of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Park Ridge Health is offering $50 Ingles gift cards to five people who take their picture with Parker and post it to Park Ridge Health’s Facebook page. Parker will be available for “photo opps” through October.
The bears of the “Bearfootin’” exhibit are sponsored by area business and colorfully decorated in different themes by area artists. They reside on the sidewalks of downtown Hendersonville, along with trees, flowers and benches to create a park-like feel. Each bear will be auctioned off in October, with half of proceeds benefiting downtown Hendersonville and the other half donated toward the purchaser’s choice of charity.
