MILLS RIVER, N.C. –Mills River Presbyterian Church will host a blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 1:30pm to 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Volunteer donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 828-890-8065 or drop in the day of the blood drive to make a donation.
“At this time of year the American Red Cross reports that blood supplies are alarmingly low and there is a great need for blood donations,” says Kathy Ziprik, elder at Mills River Presbyterian Church. “Summertime holidays and activities increase the risk of accidents, which increases the need for blood. Our church membership is reaching out to Henderson County residents to get involved in this effort by scheduling time on July 27th to donate blood to the American Red Cross.”
Conveniently located at 10 Presbyterian Church Road in Mills River (off of School House Road), Mills River Presbyterian Church provides a comfortable, easy-access location for the blood drive. All blood types are needed and all presenting donors will automatically be entered into an American Red Cross drawing for a $3,000 gift card.
