Mayor Bellamy goes to Washington

On Monday, July 9, Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy will travel to the nation's capital for a meeting about urban economic mobility. The meeting will take place at the White House, and will discuss the administration’s upcoming work on urban economic mobility and messaging. It will be led by Racquel Russell, Deputy Assistant to the President for Urban Affairs and Economic Mobility. At the meeting, he will go over the objectives and goals of the Urban Affairs office and ideas we for engagement. The meeting will also have a brainstorming session where they hope to hear the input and ideas of Bellamy.

Though, Bellamy could not be reached for comment via telephone, she did respond to Xpress about her upcoming visit via Twitter:
