Here's the statement released from Vance Patterson July 18 after he was defeated in the 11th District GOP runoff by Mark Meadows:
Thank you to the 30,000 supporters of my campaign efforts and the 5,408 who showed up and voted for us.
Congratulations to Mark Meadows and his campaign for their win in the runoff of the Primary.
I believe the Republican Platform and Mark Meadows best represent the values and interests of the people of Western North Carolina, and therefore support them over the Democratic Platform and Hayden Rogers.
I will continue to work for my family and those around me; to provide for their future, and for their future generations.
