WLOS reports on Henderson County vehicle burglary spike

According to WLOS, Burglary victims say thieves are breaking into cars parked in their driveways close to their houses. Henderson County deputies and Fletcher Police say they're investigating about 75 vehicle break-ins since June 1st. They say the crooks are walking up to the cars, looking inside, and simply opening the doors and cleaning out the valuables. Fourteen cars were hit Monday night in Mills River. Victims say this is a wake-up call, that people are desperate. Deputies say homeowners should light up their driveways or parking areas, lock their cars, and take out all valuables.
