FULL PRESS RELEASE

The Buncombe County Young Democrats’ caucus is throwing their financial weight behind Drew Reisinger, the Buncombe County Register of Deeds, with a $500 sponsorship of Reisinger’s campaign kickoff to be held on August 10th.

Reisinger, an active member of the Young Democrats, proved to be a fundraising juggernaut in the first two quarters of 2012, raising more money than any other Democratic candidate for county government this election cycle. Reisinger raised more than $28,000 from nearly 250 donors during that period.

Parker Sloan, president of the Buncombe County Young Democrats, said Reisinger has strong backing from the group, “As the only candidate under 35 running for office in Buncombe County, and with his record of service as the Register of Deeds, Drew has the full support of the Buncombe County Young Democrats and young people across Western North Carolina. This was an easy decision for the executive committee to make, not only because of Drew’s integrity and respect for public service, but more importantly because he is a symbol to our younger generations that young people can and should hold more leadership positions and elected offices.”

Emmett Carney, chairman of the Buncombe County Democratic Party, also voiced support for Reisinger, “Anyone who knows Drew is aware that he is a tireless worker. I look forward to him winning this fall and serving as our Register of Deeds for many years to come.”

Reisinger’s campaign kickoff party will take place on Friday, August 10th at the Rhino Courtyard at Pack Place. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., local jazz band, the Chuck Lichtenberger Trio will provide entertainment and North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall will also be in attendance. This event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at www.DrewForDeeds.com.Read the full article
