According to a press release, "The fascinating array of percussion instruments used in this piece include: tom tom drums, conch shell, maracas, wooden ratchet, graduated tin cans, Chinese cymbal, claves, quijadas, cricket callers, teponzatli, Indo-Chinese rattle and more."
Guitarist Shane Perlowin performs an original composition for solo classical guitar dedicated to John Cage and based on the composer's prepared piano music.
