Greensboro, NC – In celebration of National Health Center Week, U.S. Senator Kay Hagan will visit the Minnie Jones Health Center in Asheville TOMORROW, August 9. Hagan will be joined during the visit by CEO Carlos Gomez and co-founder Minnie Jones. Hagan will be available to talk with members of the media following the visit.
The Minnie Jones Health Center, which treated 18,000 patients in 2010, provides dental care, primary care, behavioral care, substance abuse and HIV services. North Carolina’s Community Health Centers serve as primary medical homes to more than 400,000 patients and ensure that all North Carolinians have access to quality affordable health care.

I'm not really tainkg a position on this legislation one way or the other; I'm pointing out what I see being a glaring flaw. If these new regulations are that necessary to keep the population from getting sick by contaminated food why is anybody getting an exemption from it? The fact that some companies can be exempt tells me that either these regulations really aren't necessary or that Hagan is putting the interests of business and her own political interests over the health of her constituents.
