Full statement from the North Carolina Republican Party:
RALEIGH, NC – “The addition of Paul Ryan to the ticket is a great selection. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he’s someone who I’ve gotten to know very well over the years. His brilliance and understanding of economics is a perfect complement to Governor Romney’s private sector experience. Paul is a devoted father and husband who deeply cares about tackling the toughest issues facing America today. I look forward to this November, when North Carolina will vote to elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan – and the American Comeback can truly begin!” - Robin Hayes, NCGOP

Let's see now...in May of this year, Romney suggested a constitutional amendment requiring that any person who sought the Presidency must have 3 years or more business experience. As he said then (less than 3 months ago):
“the president has to spend three years working in business before he becomes president of the United States,” Romney explained. “Then he or she would understand that the policies they are putting into place have to encourage small business to grow.”
And of course, the U.S. Constitution makes it clear (via the 12th Amendment) that the VP candidate must meet the same eligibility standards as the presidential nominee.
Under Romney's own proposed amendment, Paul Ryan would be disqualified from running. Ryan has none.
But that was in the recent past, and Romney was using another side of his mouth then.
