The Oakley Farmers Market will celebrate the end of its first season and the bounty of autumn with a Harvest Festival to be held during market hours (3:30-6:30 p.m.) on Thursday, Oct. 25. The festival will feature live music, a scavenger hunt, children's and pet costume contests, face painting, games, a raffle, a display of antique tractors and farm equipment, fresh-pressed apple cider and much more!

Slow Food Asheville is partnering with the Oakley Farmers Market to offer food prepared using the produce and products of Market vendors. Dishes including chicken chili with sweet potato cornbread, winter squash bisque with Fletcher Village Bakery bread, Looking Glass Creamery goat cheese and crackers, autumn desserts and much more will be available by donation.
The event is free and open to the public. Volunteers are needed and sponsorships are available. The Oakley Farmers Market is located in the parking lot behind Oakley United Methodist Church, 607 Fairview Road, Asheville.
