Where do you go when you need short reprieve from the daily grind, nothing too big, just a one-off thing? Where do you go to get away?
As many of you have probably noticed, over the past couple of months the folks here at Xpress have been sharing some of our getaway ideas with you. We’ve even organized them all on our own nifty landing page, and provided a link to that page in the form of a nifty logo over in the left column of our homepage.
We’ve had some good pieces in the getaway series so far, many based on the interests of the individual reporters doing the stories. For example, I did pieces on the Carl Sandburg Home and the Asheville Tourists, because I’m a Sandburg fan and a baseball nerd. We’ve had posts on tubing down local rivers, a guide to nearby national and state parks, and we’ve got some upcoming features that are sure to help the folks looking for great day trip ideas find something to their liking.
One thing we haven’t done (something we should’ve done much sooner), is ask you to share your ideal getaway.
There are no wrong answers here. Whether you're the indoor type more inclined to go see a show down at the Flat Rock Playhouse, or the more outdoorsy kind who would much rather spend the day hiking out to Shining Rock. Either way, we want to hear what you’ve got.
