Russian-born, Asheville-based painter and sculptor Vadim Bora died suddenly last year, leaving behind a large body of work. His wife, Constance Richards, spent nine months inventorying Bora's many pieces for an eventual catalog and continued exhibitions. The first of these opens on Friday, Sept. 28 at Warren Wilson College's Elizabeth Holden Gallery. Curated by Richards and retired Warren Wilson art professor Dusty Benedict, the exhibit, Vadim Bora: A Visual Legacy of Expressive Freedom, From Initial Spark to Final Form, includes drawings, paintings, sculpture, jewelry designs and architectural ornamentation project renderings.
