from the Van Duyn campaign: Buncombe County Sheriff, Van Duncan has recently endorsed Terry Van Duyn for Buncombe County Commissioner. Terry Van Duyn is running for County Commission in District 3, which comprises parts of South Asheville and Arden, Biltmore Forest, Enka, parts of Candler, Biltmore Lake, Sandy Mush, Leicester, and some other areas of Buncombe County. Van Duyn is a former Systems Analyst who has lived in Buncombe County for the past 20 years. She has served as a volunteer and on boards of numerous Buncombe County organizations, like Women for Women, Children First, the Community Foundation, and Pisgah Legal Service. Van Duyn has said that as Commissioner, her focus would be protecting Buncombe County values like high quality public education, natural resource preservation, and creating good paying jobs.
