Here's the press release from the campaign of Democrat Patsy Keever, who's challenging GOP incumbent Rep. Patrick McHenry in the 10th District Congressional race:
Keever campaign fires back on GOP critique
McHenry campaign steering committee member arrested today for extortion, bribery
Asheville, NC—The Keever Campaign released the following statement today in response to a press release issued by the Buncombe County Republican Party criticizing the extras in the campaign’s first video ad.
“The statement released today by the Buncombe County GOP regarding the Keever campaign’s ad comes at a peculiar time. The GOP’s central critique of the ad is based on critical assumptions about the type of people who appear in the video. Considering that one of Congressman McHenry’s top campaign lieutenants in Gaston County was arrested today by the FBI and accused of taking bribes, providing protection and using extortion as part of a stolen property operation, the GOP critique comes off at best hypocritical and at worst desperate,” said Keever campaign manager, Bruce Mulkey.
The Keever ad features supporters from Asheville, Black Mountain and Rutherford County and can be viewed by clicking here.
