Press release

From the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources
RALEIGH – A project to enlarge and improve campgrounds at Crowders Mountain State Park is scheduled to begin Nov. 5, according to the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation. The group and family backpack campgrounds will be closed beginning Nov. 5.

Depending on construction schedules, family campground sites may be available in coming weeks for Friday and Saturday only but cannot be reserved in advance. The project involves adding group campsites, including a fully accessible site, improving existing group sites and water sources and installing vault toilets to help protect the environment. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2013.
