Perfect weather and a few free hours. There were several high points of the weekend.
1. A great blue heron walking so close to me that I could not even breathe for fear of scaring him off.
2. The feel of the warm (yes warm) breeze before sunrise waiting for the gate at Cades Cove to be opened.
and 3. Watching a kingfisher hunt fish.
As my (and many other's) Grandfather used to say... "If you are lucky enough to be in the mountains here, you are lucky enough."
Will we get another weekend like this one this year? Let us hope so.
