Park Ridge Health names chief medical officer

Hendersonville, N.C. (November 16, 2012) – Park Ridge Health is pleased to announce that Carlo Mainardi, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.R., has joined the team as Chief Medical Officer for Park Ridge Health and Medical Director for Park Ridge Medical Associates, and will assume responsibilities on Dec. 3. Dr. Mainardi has worked in health care management since 1986, most recently serving as Chairman of Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and previously as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, N.J. A board-certified rheumatologist, Dr. Mainardi has been active in the Arthritis Foundation’s New Jersey chapter since 2004. He has been recognized as a top physician by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., Consumers’ Research Council of America and New Jersey Monthly.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mainardi will facilitate communication and coordination between medical staff and administration at Park Ridge Health, oversee the credentialing of medical staff and organizational compliance with laws and regulations, drive improvements in patient care and manage the application and development of research studies.

Dr. Mainardi earned his medical degree at the College of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, and completed his residency and fellowships in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola College.
