Here's the notice from the Buncombe County government that the Board of Elections will convene Nov. 28 to conduct a recount of commissioner District 2 ballots. The recount is likely to take two to three days to complete.
The recounts were requested by Republican candidate Christina Kelley G. Merrill and Democrat candidate Carol Peterson. The certified results show a 13 vote margin separating Merrill from a seat on the board and a 34 vote margin separating Peterson from another term. As of now, Republican Mike Fryar and Democrat Ellen Frost have won the district's two seats.

RECOUNT FOR DISTRICT 2, BUNCOMBE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Buncombe County Board of Elections will convene to conduct a recount for the Buncombe County Commission, District 2 at the Buncombe County Board of Elections, 35 Woodfin Street, Asheville, North Carolina on November 28th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The recount will take place in the Election Board Room, the Election Services Administrative Offices and at the Election Services Warehouse (Allport Building on Valley Street) following the initial convening.
