Rotary Club of Asheville seeks nonprofits that need small community grants

The Grants Committee of the Rotary Club of Asheville is seeking applications from nonprofit groups for funding from its Community Grant Program.

The Community Awards are derived from the Harry Morrill Endowment Fund administered by the Rotary Club of Asheville. Grants are required to be used for a charitable purpose that benefits the community in the areas of health, human services, the arts or education.

Applications for grants will be accepted through December 7, 2012, for projects proposed for the following calendar year. The maximum amount available for each successful application is $402. Application and guideline forms may be obtained by contacting the Rotary Office at ashevillerotary@bellsouth.net or by phone, 828.254.3035.

The Rotary Club of Asheville is one of the oldest and largest service clubs in North Carolina having been established in January 1915. As part of Rotary International’s 1.2-million worldwide members the club remains dedicated to promoting scholarship, volunteer community service, promoting high ethical standards in all vocations, and furthering international peace and health.
