Okay, so maybe Pines didn't actually time-travel back to the 1940s to take a spin around the track. He still makes retro sound all fresh on his recent EP, You Gotta Roll. And he'll do it again, live at his Jack of the Wood show this Saturday, Dec. 15. 9 p.m., $8.
