Local artist Vadim Bora passed away in early January, following a stroke. (Read more here.) Friends and fans have created a makeshift shrine to the late sculpture and painter outside his Battery Park studio, leaving flowers, cards, photos and notes. One message reads, "Rest peacefully and our thanks for your being who you were and your friendship & work we will cherish." Many mementos are tied to the gate at 30 1/2 Battery Park with red Maker's Mark ribbons, a tribute to Bora's celebratory spirit.
