January is the perfect time to add a little art to your life. If you've been meaning to catch up on the Asheville Art Museum's current exhibitions, now is the time to gather up your nearest and dearest and see everything the museum has to offer.

The museum is closed on New Year's Day, but opens back up on Wednesday, Jan 2 with a free admission afternoon. From 3-5 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, the museum is free for the public. Normal hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m; Sunday 1-5 p.m. www.ashevilleart.org.



Art/Sewn: Through SU (1/6) - Art/Sewn, "works of art in which sewing is integral to the making and viewing experience," will be on display in the North Wing.


Chasing the Image: Through SU (1/20) - Chasing the Image, works by Madeleine d’Ivry Lord and Sally Massengale, will be on display in the North Wing.


Robert Morris: Mind/Body/Earth: Through SU (1/27) - Robert Morris: Mind/Body/Earth will be on display in the North Wing.


In the Camps: Photographs by Erich Hartmann: Through SU (4/14) - In the Camps: Photographs by Erich Hartmann will be on display in the East Wing.


Survivors and Liberators: Through SU (3/31) - Survivors and Liberators: Portraits by Wilma Bulkin Siegel will be on display in the East Wing.

Saturday, Jan. 12, 5-7pm - Reception for Survivors and Liberators and In the Camps: Photographs by Erich Hartmann
