Cleanup after the holiday’s with the Asheville Recycle drives:


Saturday, Jan. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at Amazing Savings, 3018 U*.S. Hwy 70 West, Black Mountain

Black Mountain Styrofoam and packaging collection
• white molded & sheet Styroforam (remove tape, glue, paper & grease)
• no food containers or insulation/upholstery/craft foam
• Styrofoam peanuts
• other packaging foam, bubble wrap, air pillows, brown packing paper

Please bag different items separately (no boxes), and close containers securely to prevent blowing litter.

Hard-ro-recycle collection
Aaron's, 1298 Patton Ave (Park Terrace Center)


All of the hard-to-recycle items you don’t know what to do with now have a place to go! The recycle collection will be held at Aaron’s (Park Terrace Center), located at 1298 Patton Avenue in Asheville.

ACCEPTED ITEMS (see attached flyer for full details):
• hard plastics
• books
• cardboard
• electronics ($6 handling fee for tabletop TV’s 32” or smaller & CRT’s)
•  printer cartridges
• batteries
• Styrofoam and packaging
• small appliances
• metals, wire
• used cooking oil
• usable and unusable clothing
• pet/animal sanctuary items
•  towels, blankets
• small stuffed animals (non-pellet)
• cat & dog toys, baby teething rings
• plastic storage bins, empty shoeboxes
• cat & dog crates
• spices, beef & chicken bouillon
• prescription eyeglasses
• personal care/beauty item containers
• toothpaste tubes/pumps
• lotion & other soft tubes; lipstick & other hard tubes
• powder & other plastic cosmetic cases
• chip and snack bags

• Not accepted: paint, fluorescents, hazardous waste, wood/particle board pieces & items, window glass, mirrors, ceramics, plastic blinds, garden hoses, audio/videotapes, empty plastic bags, plastic wrap, food service Styrofoam, upholstery & insulation foam,medications & “sharps”

• Please do not bring curbside recyclables (exception: cardboard)

• Packaging and flower pots available to anyone in the community for reuse

• First-come, first-serve basis
