While solar hot water and low-flush toilets have a big impact on conserving resources, this year's ECO Green Home Tour focuses on the bigger picture.
Highlighting seven Henderson County properties, the tour focuses on how a sustainable lifestyle can make a big difference.
Three of the tour's featured homes are in conservation design developments, which offer walking trails, orchards and community gardens.
"What all of these homeowners have in common, especially the communities we are spotlighting this year, is that everyone has low energy bills, they have access to food a few steps away from their kitchen, and they have a support system among their neighbors that's increasingly rare these days," Weintraub said.Read the full article
